Joseph was reported to have been born in Grenada. He was reported to have left Grenada as a young man and departed for Trinidad. He may have had two or three brothers, one of whom went to Barbados, one to Tobago and one to another island.
He married Matilda Anore (pronounced Anoray) in Port of Spain, Trinidad. My grandmother was born in 1913 so Joseph Nelson and Matilda Anore may have been married before that.
