Where is Dundee?

In what county will I find Dundee? Also, would Dundee have been in the same county in the late 1700s? Thanks.

Dundee is on the east coast of Scotland. Look at a map of Scotland and find Edinburgh. Across the stretch of water on Edinburgh's north side - called the Firth of Forth you'll find a lump of land that is Fife. Keep going north a bit and you'll come to another estuary - the Firth of Tay. Dundee is on its north shore.
Dundee may have come under Forfarshire then.
