Looking for any information concerning Maj. Gen. Philip McPherson, CB, born around 1790, possibly Rosshire, Scotland. His wife was Matilda, and they had five sons: Walter Edward, Philip, Francis, Cecil and Fitroy Miller McPherson.
He served in the British Army in India and the Crimea and retired in 1854. He died at York on Feb. 2, 1864.
