Am searching for the Brackin side of my family. John Brackin b. abt. 1745 married Jane Knox of Scotland. They went to Ireland & immigrated from Londonderry to Ohio USA in 1803. My family history says father of John was James Bracken of Glasgow, Scotland. Family "history/story" is that Brackins owned Brechin Castle, which was the origin of their name. I have a drawing of Brechin Castle among the genealogy papers. HOWEVER, I'm having a hard time making any connection. Is there anyone who can head me in the right direction?
